We played for Tina’s brother Frank’s wedding a few years back and when she started planning for her own special day with her fiancé Jeremy she jumped on the phone to make sure we were available for the date. I’m so glad we were! We had a great time with everyone at Frank’s wedding, and we were excited to rock it out again with the whole clan.

Tina and Jeremy chose the Wainwright House for it’s beautiful waterside location. The ceremony was planned for outside, and the couple chose some really beautiful songs for it like A Thousand Years by Christina Perri and This Is the First Day of My Life by Bright Eyes. We had a trio of piano, guitar and voice all set to play by the water. Then the rain came! No worries, a little shuffling and we were all safe and dry inside the Wainwright House’s tented reception area. The ceremony was beautiful and went off without a hitch. For their cocktail hour, Tina and Jeremy chose to have our pianist play at the acoustic piano in the parlor of the main house. The guests had passed apps and drinks inside before making their way out to the tent again to get the reception pumping!

Tina and Jeremy kicked things off with their first dance, Somewhere Only We Know by Keane, a great song that we love to do. By this time the rain had subsided and guests were able to mingle inside and outside of the tent, but we were there, so mostly – there was dancing.

Tina’s stepdad, Ed got up to sing with the band and rocked! He stayed up and helped us out on backgrounds for a while and we all had a great time with it. It was while Ed was on stage that I saw a figure flash by the outside of the tent. It almost didn’t register, until I saw it again. It was a man, a NAKED MAN!! Awesome! Tina and Jeremy had their very own wedding streaker!! That was a first for me, but Ed told me that this particular streaker had a history of nude jogging that dates back to his college days. Ha! Too fun.

Caught in the act... kinda.

Tina’s family owns Garden Catering in Connecticut, they’re famous for their chicken nuggets which made a perfect end of the night party favor for all of their guests (and me). Those are some seriously delicious nuggets and they definitely hit the spot on the ride home 😉

Tina and Jeremy chose a lot of great music for their reception, but there were three tunes that had to be played for sure. We played them at Frank and Kate’s wedding and it’s a family tradition to end the night with what we call the Animal House trilogy. We start with Twistin’ the Night Away and take it into Shama Lama Ding Dong. Then we finish it off with a healthy dose of Shout! Good times.

This was a fun bunch that didn’t let the weather get them down and it was great to see Frank again and his wife Kate and their three adorable kids. A fun and beautiful family, hope to see you all again soon!
