Location: Tappan Hill Mansion, Tarrytown, NY

First Dance: The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra

Parent Dances: In My Life by The Beatles and Child of Mine by Carole King

Cake Cutting: Hey Paula by Paul and Paula

Other Awesome Requests: Marry You by Bruno Mars, Run Around by Blues Traveler

Paula and Bryan are an adorable couple with a great group of friends that like to dance! We love that. Their wedding was at the beautiful and historic Tappan Hill Mansion which is at the former estate of Mark Twain. It was a great night to get out and shake off the winter blues and celebrate the marriage of two people whose families carry a time honored tradition of military service.

Bryan himself is a First Lieutenant in the Army National Guard and Paula’s grandfather served in the Ejercito Nacional de Uruguay. At the side of the reception room, a table was set for those who “have given the ultimate sacrifice, missing in action, or prisoners of war, it (the table) is reserved as a place of honor for those who answered the call to serve their country with pride and dedication but who are unable to be with us today.” It was a lovely way to honor not only the members of their families who had served including Bryan’s Grandfather Lieutenant Gerald P. Rooney and Paula’s Grandfather Coronel Jose Maria Albuquerque, but all those who have given so much for so many.

Paula and Bryan made a grand entrance with the help of several of Bryan’s military brothers. The officers formed an archway of swords and required the couple to kiss before being able to pass each checkpoint. It was really very sweet!

After their entrance, Paula and Bryan got right out on the floor for their first dance, the classic Frank Sinatra tune The Way You Look Tonight. Then Paula took a hold of her dad for their dance to The Beatles’ In My Life followed by Bryan’s dance with his mom to her surprise pick, Child of Mine by Carole King, a beautiful song that we hadn’t done before. It definitely made the list of parent dances now!

Once the special dances were completed, the dance floor was open! The guests were a fun crowd and the dance floor was packed all night, but we’re used to that, we’re Nite-Time! During courses of the amazing dinner by Abigail Kirsch several speeches were made including a hilarious rap (yes rap – complete with beatbox backup) by Bryan’s three sisters. Too cute!

Later on in the evening, Bryan (who used to have a band himself) sat in and did an awesome job singing one of his favorite Billy Joel songs with us. We LOVE when members of the party sit in, it’s so fun for us and for their friends and family. Rock on Bryan!

The evening was a success for all and we’ve already gotten great feedback from Bryan and his dad Bob…

Yves –

Just wanted to say thank you to you and the band for an outstanding evening Sunday. A few people commented how they had never been to a wedding with so many people dancing!

Best, Bob

Hello Yves,
Thank you for such wonderful words, and such incredible music!  It was a great party because you made it so!  I’ve had countless people tell me how much fun the music was and others say they haven’t seen so many people dancing at a wedding.  Such an amazing time, the craziness still hasn’t quite yet subsided.
And you can bet Paula and I will be sitting down to write a glorious review for Nite-Time on wedding wire (we’ll be sitting down to do all those items this weekend) or anywhere else it comes up.  We had such a blast and could not be happier with everything.
All my best,

All our best to Paula and Bryan and hopefully we’ll party with you all again soon!

Thanks again for having Nite-Time be a part of your day!

Heather and Dylan were married back in October at The Garrison with the amazing backdrop of the Hudson River Valley. They’re our featured wedding for October and should be up on our blog this week. In the meantime we thought we’d share this note that they sent to Yves a few weeks after the wedding…

Heather and Dyan

Hi Yves,

Now that the dust has settled I wanted to take a moment to thank you for an amazing night.  You guys rocked!!  So many people came up to us to tell us you guys were the best wedding band they every heard.  Thank you for making our night so wonderful!  I wrote a review for you on Wedding Wire and would be more than happy to be a reference for you guys for any upcoming events.
Thanks again!!
Much love and gratitude,
Heather and Dylan

A few weeks after the wedding, Brendan posted this review on our WeddingWire storefront…

…Working with Yves & Amy and the Nite Time Band as our Wedding Reception Entertainment was by far the best investment and ultimate choice that took our wedding to a whole new level! I have no doubt that this amazing band was the reason for comments from our guests such as, “Your wedding was the most entertaining and fun event that I have ever attended,” and “I kept forgetting that you had a live band, it’s like the real artists were playing live for EVERY song,” and “Your band members were the best performers we’ve ever seen live…let alone at a wedding! RIDICULOUS!” I could go on and on, but words would not be enough to describe the satisfaction and thrill of the experience we had with Nite-Time.

From the very start, Yves, the band manager and drummer, was extremely professional and easy to work with. He was very accessible, responding to my numerous emails and calls with my questions and concerns no matter how small. He had a great balance of making suggestions and also allowing for our own special input and ideas. My wife and I had very specific requests, all of which Nite-Time accommodated. From a very specific song list for special events throughout the reception to even a groom’s performance with myself as the lead singer/guitar with the band! What my wife and I loved was how enthusiastic Yves and Amy were about their music as we were about our music choices and how confident they were in their own product. They openly invited us to reach out to former clients for feedback, but what sealed the deal was seeing the band perform live. They graciously pulled some strings to invite us to watch them in action at an exclusive wedding at the Yale Club in mid-town Manhattan. Another time, they even held a separate special event for potential clients at a local venue. By seeing them live, in their performing element will show anyone who knows music how professional, talented, and versatile the band can be. On top of playing amazingly seamless transitions, their repertoire was as vast as a 300 GB ipod. From Taio Cruz to James Brown, or even ZZ Top to the Temptations, the band could do it all and without any drop in performance level. The showmanship of all the band members was truly unbelievable! Amy, the band’s lead singer, carries a song and intrigues the audience with her incredible vocal range. At one point, the lead guitarist put his guitar upside down on his head while shredding out an incredible riff as the crowd went wild! Those are the types of things that make people say, “Your wedding reception was THE BEST!” and you know they really mean it.

From the bottom of our hearts, my wife and I would like to thank Yves and Amy and the wonderful Nite-Time band for making our wedding reception a once in a lifetime event filled with music, laughter and love. One that we will truly treasure and cherish forever!

Date: 8/27/11

Location: The Candlewood Inn, Brookfield, CT

First Dance: The classic jazz standard, That’s All

Number of Approaching Hurricanes: 1

Nicole found us online in the midst of the Holiday season and booked us before the new year started.

During the last week of August we were all watching Hurricane Irene as it swirled up the coast, but none so closely as Nicole and Arnaud. Their wedding was scheduled for the weekend that Irene was projected to make landfall…in the early morning hours of August 28th…in New York City… about 60 miles from their wedding venue. Yikes!

The morning of the wedding Nicole called Yves to “make sure you guys are still coming”. “Of Course” was his reply. Apparently several guests would be unable to make it to the wedding because of travel restrictions, and Nicole was worried that the band might fall into that category. Never! We knew what was coming and all planned to head out early to beat the storm to Nicole and Arnaud’s wedding. After the wedding? We would cross that bridge when we came to it.

The ceremony had been planned for outside overlooking a beautiful lake…

But, by the time the ceremony rolled around the view from inside looked like this…

No worries though, the good folks at The Candlewood Inn have seen weather before, so plan B was enacted and the ceremony was set up in the main reception room with just a little bit of adjustment. The guests would have thought that was the way it was planned. Once we were all safely inside (a few guests short) the ceremony went off with out a hitch. Nicole and Arnaud, a mixed religion couple, had both a Rabbi and a Minister present who worked extremely well together. The ceremony was touching and heartfelt with some humorous and lighthearted moments thrown in. Solo classical piano was the perfect backdrop to it all.

Solo piano continued for the cocktail hour, but switched genres to light jazz. Appetizers were passed while the room was reset from ceremony to reception seamlessly. At this point I think most of us forgot there was a storm bearing down on the east coast, nonetheless, Nicole offered to get us all hotel rooms if anyone needed to stay. It was truly gracious of her, and if she was stressed out by the storm in any way she sure didn’t show it.
As the cocktail hour ended and we transitioned to reception it was time to get the dancing started with Nicole and Arnaud’s first dance, That’s All. This beautiful jazz standard love song is a perfect choice for a first dance. Check out the lyrics, they would make great wedding vows! From That’s All we went into a hora medley to wish the bride and groom good luck.
People really got into dancing that night to all kinds of music. We went, as usual, from Van Morrison to Ke$ha and back again. All the hurdles of the storm had been overcome, the news was that it was slowing down, so most people would be able to get back home and everyone cut loose!
Even Yves!
We played until midnight and beat the storm back home by a few hours…
We were very lucky during Hurricane Irene. We made it home safely, we were able to be there to celebrate with Nicole and Arnaud and we didn’t suffer any losses from storm damage. That’s not true for a lot of our neighbors here in the northeast, a lot of whom are still struggling to overcome the losses they suffered and will continue to do so for quite some time. Several weeks later, Nicole posted this review on our page…
AMAZING BAND! PROFESSIONAL. FLEXIBLE. Extensive song list. Yves worked with us during the planning stages. He is friendly, easy to communicate with and I had complete confidence in their service from the moment we first spoke. They were EVERYTHING that we could have wanted, and more! We would absolutely hire them again in the future. There is nothing that they could have done better or differently. We were extremely impressed and so were our guests. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

A Thank You from Hillary and Brian!

Hillary and Brian, our couple from August that got married in beautiful Twilight Park sent us this note of thanks…

Thank you, Yves.  We very much enjoyed having you play!  Everyone was dancing up a storm!  Brian and I agree that our wedding day was perfect.  Please feel free to use us as a reference.

We just got the disk of pictures and there are some great pictures of you and the rest of the band in action. Would you like me to forward some along?
When we get those pics, I’ll share…

Hot Review!

Kathy’s daughter, Julianna got married on the hottest day of the year in a semi-outdoor venue in Brooklyn that had… you guessed it… no A/C!
They were the nicest group of people and really great sports considering that it was over 100 degrees in Prospect park that day. Cheers to all of their guests for dancing like there was no heatwave!

Shortly after the event, Kathy sent us this email…

Hi Amy and Yves,

I’ve been meaning to send you an email to tell you what a wonderful time we had. You guys were great and deserve an A++++ rating just for showing up in that awful heat! You are true professionals and obviously love what you do and do it very well, regardless of the circumstances. We had alot of nice, positive comments on how great the band was. We were fortunate to have such high-quality music and food that our guests seemed to overlook the heat in favor of having a great time.

We will definitely give you the best feedback possible and will recommend the band to anyone in the market for great performers. Please feel free, if you’d like, to use our names as references. We hope you’ll continue making music for a long time, as we have 2 more daughters (but they’re only 18 and 21!).

Best regards,

Last winter we played Josephine’s sister Alexandra’s 21st birthday party. Not our usual type of event, but it was a great party downstairs at the Ella Lounge. Usually our audience ranges in age from 20’s on up. At Alexandra’s birthday party the room was filled with mostly 20-somethings and they loved classic rock and r&b. We played one amazing two hour set and everyone was dancing. Yves got this email from Josephine the monday after the party…

Hey Yves,

Thank you soooo much for Saturday night! The band really was amazing and you left a wonderful impression on everyone there. People were shocked how great you guys sounded and especially the birthday girl was in heaven. You really are an outstanding band! I hope to encounter you once again, but I’ll definitely be referring you to everyone I know. I hope you enjoyed yourself as well.

From Sue and Chad…

Sue and Chad got married last June and sent this email to Yves shortly after the wedding. Sue was great to work with, an event planner by trade, she knew what she wanted and was very organized (we love that) but when it came time to party it was off the hook!

Thank you so much for helping throw an AMAZING party on Friday night.  I can’t tell you how many people have reached out to tell me Nite-Time might be the best band they have ever heard…

The music is such an important part of a wedding and you guys 150% delivered for me!  Chad was so surprised by all the songs you learned for us and I couldn’t be more thankful to you for your efforts.  I will send you a formal thank you for your files in the next week or so.
Thank you again!!!!!
Best Regards,

It’s been really fun going through all our past client correspondence. I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner. Kristin and Ira were great. They got married at the 76 House in Tappan, NY last December. It was a beautiful afternoon wedding, but don’t let the proper tone of this email fool you. They cut loose that afternoon with all their friends like it was 3am and the club was jumpin’!

Dear Yves,

Thank you so much for creating the perfect soundtrack for our wedding day. The song choices, from our first dance to the final number, fit our theme flawlessly. Needless to say our guests were very impressed. Nite-Time has garnered our deepest regard and we gladly provide our highest recommendation.

All the Best,
Kristin & Ira

Just thought we’d share…

We get so many great emails from our wonderful clients, that we thought we should share the love. This one is from our groom Jonathan who’s wedding was back in August. Yves got this email a couple of weeks ago, shortly after Jonathan and Jeanette returned from their honeymoon in Italy. And yes, we are still jealous!

Yves –

Just got back from Italy a few days ago. We had an amazing trip.

Just wanted to give you a quick shout and thank you, Amy and the rest of the band for everything. You all made the wedding so much fun and we could not have been happier to have you play for our wedding. Honestly, it could not have been more perfect. We were blown away by Welcome to the Jungle. It really got all of us super pumped up and it was really really cool of you to hook it up on such short notice.

Anyway, you guys are the best and we really appreciate everything. I believe we also had a few guests who might be in need of a band soon and I will surely give them all of your info.

Again, thanks for everything and I look forward to hearing you guys again at some point……

Have a great weekend and we will talk soon.

– Jonathan
