Hey everyone!

I know it’s been a while since we last posted, but we have had a crazy busy couple of months. We rocked some pretty awesome events in May and June in addition to starting the planning process with Nite-Time’s Class of 2016. We figured you all might want to see what we’ve been up to, so here are some photo highlights of our spring season…

We were honored to return (for the eighth year) to perform for the amazing folks at the Princeton Child Development Institute. They do such wonderful work with children and adults living with autism and they do a terrific job organizing this event each year.

This marked the third year in a row that the good people at the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center asked us to perform for their Spring Gala and one of the few times of the year that Amy and Bennett get to perform as a duo before the full band gets rockin’. Always fun!

We rocked a small fete with our friends from Arizona Iced Tea on Memorial Day weekend and Amy got to go electric… again!

Of course, no spring would be complete without our Columbia College Reunion Weekend revelers jamming to tunes from every decade on the plaza outside the iconic Low Library in the heart of NYC! We probably say this every year, but this year seemed to bring out more alumni than ever before.

We were invited to perform for Duggal Visual Solutions’ summer yacht party again this year and it was so much fun! This year’s party was on the Hornblower Infinity, a boat with a capacity of 1000 people, so cool.

Amy and Yves got to rock it duo style at the Wolfert’s Roost CC’s Belmont Stakes party on June 6th. We’re not saying the acoustic good vibes we sent out had anything to do with American Pharoah’s historic triple crown win, but you never know 😉

Just three days before the end of spring on June 18th, wedding season kicked in for us again with Bianca and Lyncean’s NYC nuptials. These two ER docs are so busy they had to schedule their wedding for a Thursday night. It’s all good, we’ll rock a party any day of the week. More to come on that one…

Best Reunion Highlight: 30th Anniversary Ghostbuster in Full Costume, Sweet!

I know, I know we say it every year, but really, this year was off the hook at Columbia! We’ve just had the best time playing for the alumni over the years. This year was a celebration of class years ending in four and nine, which made it the 30th anniversary of arguably the best movie ever shot on campus, Ghostbusters (I’m not sure what other movies have been shot on campus though).

We got some great pics sent to us from Scott Rudd, an amazing photographer and musician who was on the scene to capture the event. We just thought we’d share them with all of you…

We also got to hang with as close to a real Ghostbuster as possible. I’m not sure he was sanctioned by the University, and he may have been run off campus shortly after this shot was taken, but we had a great time anyway!

Just had to get a shot with this guy!

Thanks again Columbia! Looking forward to the next time…

Dancing: All Night!!

Nite-Time has been playing for the Columbia College Alumni Reunion Weekend’s Starlight Recption for the last 10 years, and each year it gets more and more off the hook. I think we may be building a reputation for rocking the house, or the tent, as it were. 2012 was no exception. The tent outside Low Library in the plaza of the iconic Columbia University campus was so packed that dancers had to find space outside, behind and on the stairs above it!

Every year the Alumni Association honors classes in five year increments going backwards from the current year, so this year there were Alumni as recent as class of 2007 and as far back as class of 1942 in attendance for reunion weekend.

It makes for a fun night at the Starlight Reception, because we get to jump into our musical time machine and bop around from decade to decade. Yves gets really into calling out class years and the partygoers love it when they hear their graduating class called out! They know by now that it means the next tune is for them. From big band to hip-hop, disco to classic rock we hit on everything. I can’t tell you how fun it is for us as a band to stretch like that.

This year, music from the ’80s was a big hit with all the classes and I had one particularly fun sing along moment with a couple from the class of 2007 to Hot n Cold by Katy Perry. The urge to dance was felt by all and the fact that we played until 1:30am didn’t slow anyone down!

We were compelled to play an encore by chants of “one more song” from the crowd of what seemed like record numbers (again!).

This is always a fun night, if you happen to be a Alum of Columbia and have ignored the invite to Reunion Weekend in the past, you should definitely RSVP “YES!” to the next one. The Starlight Reception is a night to remember year after year and there are countless other activities scheduled for the rest of the weekend, from lectures to wine tastings to BBQ’s and kids activities.

We can’t wait to see you all again next year!
