Hey everyone!

I know it’s been a while since we last posted, but we have had a crazy busy couple of months. We rocked some pretty awesome events in May and June in addition to starting the planning process with Nite-Time’s Class of 2016. We figured you all might want to see what we’ve been up to, so here are some photo highlights of our spring season…

We were honored to return (for the eighth year) to perform for the amazing folks at the Princeton Child Development Institute. They do such wonderful work with children and adults living with autism and they do a terrific job organizing this event each year.

This marked the third year in a row that the good people at the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center asked us to perform for their Spring Gala and one of the few times of the year that Amy and Bennett get to perform as a duo before the full band gets rockin’. Always fun!

We rocked a small fete with our friends from Arizona Iced Tea on Memorial Day weekend and Amy got to go electric… again!

Of course, no spring would be complete without our Columbia College Reunion Weekend revelers jamming to tunes from every decade on the plaza outside the iconic Low Library in the heart of NYC! We probably say this every year, but this year seemed to bring out more alumni than ever before.

We were invited to perform for Duggal Visual Solutions’ summer yacht party again this year and it was so much fun! This year’s party was on the Hornblower Infinity, a boat with a capacity of 1000 people, so cool.

Amy and Yves got to rock it duo style at the Wolfert’s Roost CC’s Belmont Stakes party on June 6th. We’re not saying the acoustic good vibes we sent out had anything to do with American Pharoah’s historic triple crown win, but you never know šŸ˜‰

Just three days before the end of spring on June 18th, wedding season kicked in for us again with Bianca and Lyncean’s NYC nuptials. These two ER docs are so busy they had to schedule their wedding for a Thursday night. It’s all good, we’ll rock a party any day of the week. More to come on that one…

Cassie and Mike are simply adorable. They chose the beautiful, historic Bourne Mansion on Long Island for their wedding. A great spot by the water that was the perfect backdrop for the day. Their request list was varied and a lot of fun for us, a few new tunes got added to the song list that night!

Cassie and Mike had a friend perform the ceremony for them, which is just such a wonderful and personal touch. Their ceremony was both touching and humorous. Nothing beats having someone who really knows you as a couple perform your ceremony for you, except maybe having our guy Danny lay down the sweet sweet solo guitar jams. For Cassie and Mike there was Crazy Love by Van Morrison,Ā Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’oleĀ and When I Paint My Masterpiece by Bob Dylan.

Cocktails and appetizers were accompanied by solo guitar in the solarium and featured two signature cocktails representing the bride and groom’s hometowns. Cassie and Mike had the most adorable beer koozies made to commemorate the night as well.

As the party moved into the reception room Nite-Time introduced the bridal party into the room to Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson feat.Ā Bruno Mars. We love that tune! For the first dance, Cassie and Mike chose Someone Like You, a classic by Van Morrison with a hint of I Wanna Grow Old With You from The Wedding Singer with Adam Sandler. Everyone got up on the floor to celebrate the bride and groom and they kept it rockin’ all night. Cassie danced with her dad to Lullaby by Billy Joel which always gets everyone teared up. Then we took itĀ right into The Belle of Belfast City, a traditional Irish song, that gave Cassie’s sisters a chance to dance to a family favorite. Mike and his mom chose What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong, another great classic!

Cassie and Mike like a wide variety of music, some of the highlights of their request list include: Treasure by Bruno Mars, Shake it Off by Taylor Swift, Rosalita (always a favorite of Nite-Time) by Bruce Springsteen,Ā Galway Girl by Steve Earle and Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon. We ended the night with the new classic Ho Hey by the Lumineers it’s becoming a party anthem in it’s own right and it’s a great way to cap off a wonderful evening.

We had such fun planning with and playing for Cassie and Mike. Here areĀ some cool picsĀ we snapped at their wedding…

First Dance: You Are The Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne

We were recommended to Tina and Dave by the good folks at The 21 Club. They do some smaller weddings there and they were impressed with the way we maintain the ability to play a wide variety of music with a smaller ensemble.

Tina and Dave wanted just that in the music they chose for their wedding. We put together arrangements of all of their favorite songs with a four piece band that not only fit into the smaller space but didn’t overwhelm their guests with volume. We had a lot of fun with it and the guests not only got to talk and enjoy the beautiful setting and amazing food at 21, but they still got to dance and cut loose as if we were a full sized orchestra.

For Tina and Dave’s wedding they had a short ceremony to start the evening for which we played Moon River, a favorite of both the bride and the groom. They requested You Are The Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne for their first dance. We love playing this one; it’s been very popular. It’s a great heartfelt song that’s also danceable – it makes everyone want to move!

Here’s some details…
