Spring Has Sprung!

Happy Spring Everyone,

When we last checked in with you all, we were getting set to rock Valentine’s Day at Seasons at Windham Mountain, and that we did. It was one of the best (if not coldest) ski weekends of the season and the folks at Seasons were up and dancing with us to help warm up after a chilly afternoon on the slopes! Our favorite newly-engaged guitar-god, JT Curtis filled in for Danny and rocked the house while showing his beautiful fiancé the love! Hey JT, we know an awesome band for your wedding 😉

That was quite a move, and he still nailed the solo!

We kicked off the year on January 16th when we hit the road to play for Natasha and Brian’s Wedding in Washington DC at The Capitol View at 400. We first met Natasha a few years back when we played for her mom’s 50th bash in Maryland. We all had so much fun with these folks, we were super psyched to rock out with them again in our nation’s capital. Natasha is an amazing professional dancer and aerialist and really showed off her skills during the couple’s first dance, You’re The Cream in My Coffee.

Natasha and Brian captivated the crowd.

It was an awesome way to kick off 2016!

On New Year’s Eve we got a chance to party with our friends at The Wolfert’s Roost Country Club in Albany, NY – wow, we really get around! Amy, kicked off the festivities that night by flexing her solo acoustic guitar and vocal muscles during the cocktail hour before she joined the full band for dancing in the ball room!

Happy New Year!

In March we all took some time off before donning our masks for this year’s annual GCCA Beaux Arts Ball on April 2nd,which honored our friend and colleague Frank Cuthbert for his contributions to supporting local art and artists. Frank is a wonderfully talented composer and performer. We had the privilege of performing a piece from Frank’s musical Coney Island entitled Great Kissers in New York, and later in the evening we surprised Frank and called him up on stage to sing one of our favorites of his songs, Nervous. We have such a great time at this event each year and this year was no exception. We feel honored to contribute to this very worthy cause in our small way and truly respect the people who work tirelessly to make sure that the arts are supported in our community. Thank you to Kay Stamer and David and Jean Slutsky for allowing us to be a part of this event year after year and to Frank for rocking with us!

On April 4th, Yves and the guys provided a jazz trio for the Stanley M. Isaacs Center Gala at The Racquet and Tennis Club on Park Avenue in NYC. Yves delighted the crowd with his cocktail-hour crooning while Bennett tickled the ivories for the guests as they mingled and perused the silent auction items before heading into the main ballroom for dinner and a live auction to benefit the center.

Gala-goers anxiously await the live auction portion of the evening.

We are so excited about our expansion and look forward to making all of your entertainment wishes come true!

Hey everyone!

I know it’s been a while since we last posted, but we have had a crazy busy couple of months. We rocked some pretty awesome events in May and June in addition to starting the planning process with Nite-Time’s Class of 2016. We figured you all might want to see what we’ve been up to, so here are some photo highlights of our spring season…

We were honored to return (for the eighth year) to perform for the amazing folks at the Princeton Child Development Institute. They do such wonderful work with children and adults living with autism and they do a terrific job organizing this event each year.

This marked the third year in a row that the good people at the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center asked us to perform for their Spring Gala and one of the few times of the year that Amy and Bennett get to perform as a duo before the full band gets rockin’. Always fun!

We rocked a small fete with our friends from Arizona Iced Tea on Memorial Day weekend and Amy got to go electric… again!

Of course, no spring would be complete without our Columbia College Reunion Weekend revelers jamming to tunes from every decade on the plaza outside the iconic Low Library in the heart of NYC! We probably say this every year, but this year seemed to bring out more alumni than ever before.

We were invited to perform for Duggal Visual Solutions’ summer yacht party again this year and it was so much fun! This year’s party was on the Hornblower Infinity, a boat with a capacity of 1000 people, so cool.

Amy and Yves got to rock it duo style at the Wolfert’s Roost CC’s Belmont Stakes party on June 6th. We’re not saying the acoustic good vibes we sent out had anything to do with American Pharoah’s historic triple crown win, but you never know 😉

Just three days before the end of spring on June 18th, wedding season kicked in for us again with Bianca and Lyncean’s NYC nuptials. These two ER docs are so busy they had to schedule their wedding for a Thursday night. It’s all good, we’ll rock a party any day of the week. More to come on that one…

Alumni Battle of the Classes on the Dance Floor!

Alumni Battle of the Classes on the Dance Floor!

Yves loves to call out songs for each graduating class and get everyone going on the dance floor. Everyone gets really into showing their class pride and we get to play songs from nearly every decade and genre, something we at Nite-Time not only enjoy doing, but are great at!

The Empire Room Rocked!

Thanks to everyone who came out to The Empire Room in NYC on Saturday. It was our first time there, and hopefully it won’t be our last. The place is beautiful and we all had a great time playing there. If you weren’t able to make it out, we will of course keep you posted on the next one, but you should definitely stop by The Empire Room for a drink if you get a chance. The atmosphere is great, the staff was really cool and the vibes are just overall good in there.

We started out the night with some easy soul and Motown hits that really fit in with the tone of the venue, and then we ramped it up to some current hits and classic rock. There’s not usually a dance floor at The Empire Room, but there was on Saturday night! Thanks to Dave Cervini and the New York Social Network for throwing such a rockin’ event and for having us there to help with the rockin’! Hopefully we raised some money for a good cause and gained some new Nite-Time fans. Until next time…

Marianna and Nate

Marianna and Nate

Date: July 17

Location: Sea Cliff Yacht Club, Sea Cliff, NY

First Dance: Just in Time (Nina Simone version)

We first met Marianna and Nate back in the fall of 2009. Marianna booked us remotely via the internet, so we set up a meeting to talk about music during one of their trips to NYC to nail things down for their July 2010 wedding. When they walked into the Greenwich Village French Roast location we had agreed on as a meeting place it was clear that they were a perfect match for Nite-Time, the un-wedding band. Marianna and Nate are a fun and quirky couple with great taste in music and a terrific sense of style which really showed at their wedding and in their request list.

NYU grads, just like me, Marianna and Nate have eclectic and cool taste in music, clothes and dogs! They chose a great list of requests for the night, including the Save Ferris version of “Come on Eileen” and “99 Red Balloons”. They danced with their guests all night (after a short stint behind the bar mixing up cocktails).

Marianna and Nate’s wedding was fun for the band as well. We had a great time learning their special requests and have kept most of them in the repertoire. The new and improved Nite-Time song list now includes:

  • Buddy Holly, Weezer
  • Come on Eileen, Save Ferris
  • I Want You to Want Me, Cheap Trick
  • Just Like Heaven, The Cure
  • I Melt With You, Modern English
  • 99 Red Balloons, Nena
  • What I Got, Sublime

They also reminded us of some tunes we had almost forgotten that we knew like “Tempted” and “Little Red Corvette.” As you can see, good times were had by all, and three weeks later, the Sea Cliff Yacht Club had us back to play at their annual clambake. Marianna and Nate are great. We love people who love to have fun!
